Bonjour les amis! J’espère que vous aller bien. Cela fait longtemps que j’ai écrit une publication. Depuis quelques jours, j’apprenais le futur. Aujourd’hui, j’ai appris ‘L’indicatif Futur’ et, j’aimerais partager ce que je trouve très pratique.
Just a heads up, I'm not a professional teacher, but rather another learner. The information I share might not be entirely accurate.
For those who have already learnt future tense in French, you will know unlike the usuals [infinitive + ai, as, a, ons, ez, ont] there are some words that have ‘irregular’ stems, and today, I would like to share the list for you:
Aller (to go) - ir-
Avoir (to have) - aur-
Être (to be) - ser-
Devoir (to have to) - devr-
Envoyer (to send) - enverr-
Faire (to do/make) - fer-
Pouvoir (to be able to) - pourr-
Savoir (to know) - saur-
Venir (to come) - viendr-
Voir (to see) - verr-
Vouloir (to want) - voudr-
Acheter (to buy) - achèter-
Appeler (to call) - appeller-
Amener (to bring) - amèner-
Enlever (to remove) - enlèver-
Mourir (to die) - mourr-
Pleuvoir (to rain) - pleuvr-
Recevoir (to receive) - recevr-
Tenir (to hold) - tiendr-
Courir (to run) - courr-
With these words, you need to use this special stems instead of infinitive to make the future tense. Fortunately, the endings do not change phew!
When I get a chance I will write posts about future tense from the scratch like I did in the previous posts. Meantime, I found this is a worth writing in your book. When you have time, try making sentence using the stems, and as always, happy learning!
